The UFC Moscow co-main event witnessed the promotion’s #4 light heavyweight Jan Blachowicz choke out the returning Nikita Krylov in the second round. Blachowicz now enjoys a four-fight winning streak and called out the 205 pound champ Daniel Cormier, and said he would settle for a rematch with Alexander Gustafsson.
Krylov changed levels to score an early takedown to start the bout, landing in the full guard of his opponent. Blachowicz threw his legs up for a few sub attempts, and then found top position after Krylov jumped on a guillotine. Krylov struggled with the top control of Blachowicz and spent the rest of the round on his back. Blachowicz quickly found top position to open the second stanza. Again, Krylov struggled with the top pressure as Blachowicz controlled from the top. Blachowicz methodically worked for an arm triangle, and after a bit of adjustment, Krylov was forced to tap.
