Colby Covington says Darren Till should leave it to ‘the big boys’: ‘He couldn’t walk the walk’

Colby Covington has some harsh words for UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till.

The UFC-Darren Till hype train came to a screeching halt this past weekend at UFC 228, where the 25-year-old was pummeled by Tyron Woodley at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

Till barely landed any significant strikes against Woodley and was submitted with a D’Arce choke in the second round of the main event.

As expected, renowned UFC troll Colby Covington stopped by on The MMA Hour on Monday to rub salt in the wound and ridicule ‘The Gorilla’ for failing to live up to the hype.

‘Chaos’ called Till ‘an overrated doughboy’ and told the Brit to leave championship-level fighting to ‘the big boys.’

“Till’s just an overrated doughboy that had a whole lot of hype,” Covington said yesterday, per MMA Fighting’s Alexander K. Lee. “He talked the talk, but he couldn’t walk the walk like me so he needs to leave it to the big boys. He beat a crippled old ‘Clownboy’ and got a gift in his hometown against the ‘Choirboy’. He should have never been rewarded with a title shot for missing weight in a third of his UFC fights.

“Good thing he neglected his family to land a hot zero significant strikes in two rounds.”

Covington, who was originally expected to face Woodley in a title unification bout earlier this year, is all but confirmed as ‘T-Wood’s’ next opponent. It’s teased that Woodley and Covington will lock horns at the upcoming UFC 230 pay-per-view which takes place on Nov. 3 at Madison Square Garden in New York.
