The top of the UFC on FOX 30 billing just witnessed Dustin Poirier taking out Eddie Alvarez in the second round of their rematch. The first round was rather melo, but come round two, that all changed. Alvarez found top position after a botched guillotine from Poirier, but an illegal 12-6 elbow from Alvarez forced the referee to bring the bout back to its feet. That’s when Poirier clipped his foe with a knee that set up the wild finishing sequence that earned Poirier the victory.
Check out Mookie Alexander’s play-by-play of Dustin Poirier vs. Eddie Alvarez:

Another knee! Alvarez still standing but he’s badly hurt. Poirier with a knee to the body. Alvarez still not finished yet! This is insane!
