After a six-year wait, the UFC is finally back in Calgary, Alberta. Their previous trip was the disastrous UFC 149, but this card figures to be destined for excitement. Lightweight contenders Eddie Alvarez and Dustin Poirier engage in a highly anticipated rematch in the main event, as they’ll hopefully settle their score following a no-contest the first time out. The co-main event is a major opportunity for Jeremy Stephens to get a title shot, as he faces former champion Jose Aldo in Aldo’s first three-rounder since 2009.
Rounding out the main card are ex-strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk and top-5 contender Tecia Torres, with Joanna looking to avoid a three-fight losing skid after taking a pair of title fight losses to Rose Namajunas. The primetime broadcast opens with rising lightweight prospect Olivier Aubin-Mercier and Alexander Hernandez, with Hernandez making a big statement in his UFC debut by KOing Beneil Dariush on short notice.
