We are just one day away from arguably the biggest and most intriguing boxing match of 2018, as Ukrainian Olympic gold medalist Oleksandr Usyk (14-0, 11 KOs) takes on Russian phenom Murat Gassiev (26-0-1, 19 KOs) in the World Boxing Super Series cruiserweight final. Millions of dollars in prize money is at stake, as well as the inaugural Muhammad Ali Trophy, and the right to be called the undisputed champion, as both men possess all four major belts.
The weigh-ins were held in Moscow on Friday morning, and both men weighed in at 198. 2 lbs, comfortably under the cruiserweight limit of 200 lbs. You can watch the video at the top of the page, and also take a look at some of the highlights of their respective journeys to the tournament final.
These are the undisputed top two guys in the division, and the winner has a strong case through this tournament for being at least a top-three pound-for-pound fighter. I can’t wait. I am feel. I am very feel.
