Sage Northcutt stopped Zak Ottow with strikes in the second-round of the UFC Boise co-main event. Ottow started out strong, rocking Northcutt then planting him on the floor and keeping him there for nearly the entire first round. Northcutt would rally, however, and in the second round he let his strikes go to fold up his foe, and then finished him off with ground strikes to get the knockout. Northcutt now sits at 11-2 and has won three-straight fights. Who will be next for the 22-year-old?
Co-main event:
Sage Northcutt def. Zak Ottow by KO at 3:13 of round 2: Welterweight
Ottow clipped Northcutt with the first punch he threw and took top control right away. Northcutt struggled to get Ottow off of him as Ottow worked diligently to improve his position. Northcutt finally got back up with about a minute left, and worked hard for a mounted guillotine before time ran out.
Ottow picked up another early takedown to kick off the second frame. Northcutt got back to his feet, and then landed a few strikes before Ottow shot back in for a takedown. Northcutt remained vertical and started to piece up his opponent. Ottow folded under the pressure, and Northcutt unleashed a ground attack until the referee stepped in.
