Greg Hardy earned a UFC contract with a quick knockout in his pro debut on the Tuesday Night Contender Series last month. Following the win, UFC president Dana White said he wanted him back in the cage as soon as possible. And that appears to be exactly what’s happening - but it won’t take place on an official UFC card.

According to an ESPN report that was confirmed by MMA Fighting, Hardy will return to the Contender Series on August 7th to meet Tebaris Gordon.

Gordon has been fighting since 2013. He went 5-4 as an amateur, but is 3-0 as a pro so far with three TKO finishes.

Hardy, a former NFL player with the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers, generated a lot of controversy when he was brought into the Contender Series due to his past issues with domestic violence. He has called Dana White an “angel” for giving him a chance.

Hardy trains out of American Top Team in Florida, and went 3-0 as an amateur before he took his first pro fight. He finished Austen Lane via KO in 57 seconds in his first TNCS bout.
