UFC 225 video: Embedded, part 1 - ‘If you wanna talk crap, you get smacked’

Check out the first episode of Embedded for UFC 225.

UFC 225 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the first episode for this weekend’s big show in the Windy City, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.

We kick things off in the horrible traffic of LA with Rafael dos Anjos. He’s excited about his interim welterweight title fight with Colby Covington, and he wants to be the first Brazilian to hold two belts in the promotion. He speaks to the media bout Covington’s big mouth, says hi to Holly Holm, then they dub over audio of him as he gets back into his vehicle - “If you talk crap, you get smacked.”

Down in Florida at ATT, we hear from Colby. Mike Brown talks him up a bit. Covington refers to himself as the “King of Brazil”. Next. More smack talk about the “haters and virgins” online. Sure, bud.

UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is already in Chicago, doing a light workout. He’s trying to get over the inevitable jet lag from a long trip. His coach tells a tall tale about not being able to show off their moves, ones that he has learned from coming from a small village in China where the art has been around for three thousand years.

“Tell me more about your Chinese dad,” Whittaker deadpans to his Caucasian coach. That was funny. Whittaker then moves onto a BJJ gym and talks about most of the hard work being done. He talks about getting the best Yoel Romero yet.

Back to Colby, and we’re at his house. He discuesses getting into wrestling and street fights growing up, and wanting to intimidate people when he walks into a room. More jibber jabber, and we’re mercifully done.

And that’s it! UFC 225 goes down this weekend in Chicago.
