The UFC’s debut in Russia will include a potentially entertaining middleweight slugfest this September, as ESPN’s Ariel Helwani reports that C.B. Dollaway is set to face Dagestan’s Omari Akhmedov.
Dollaway (17-8) received a rare disqualification win in his last outing, as Hector Lombard knocked him out after the opening round had ended at UFC 222. Prior to that, “The Doberman” earned a decision against Ed Herman at The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale in Las Vegas.
Akhmedov (17-4-1) fought to a majority draw against Marvin Vettori at UFC 219, in what was his return to middleweight. He’d previously competed at welterweight for seven fights, going 4-3 in those bouts, including handing Abdul Razak Alhassan his first career loss in May 2017.
UFC Fight Night: Moscow is set for September 15th and streams live exclusively on UFC Fight Pass. While not officially announced, it’s expected that Aleksei Oleinik will face off against Mark Hunt in the main event. Also announced for the card is a heavyweight clash between Andrei Arlovski and Shamil Abdurakhimov.
