50 Cent has flirted with combat sports for a long time now. As far back as 2012, he tried to get into the boxing game as a promoter with The Money Team. Then he feuded with Conor McGregor for a while. And most recently, he was teasing a deal with Bellator MMA. So what was he talking about there? A possible fight? That seemed unlikely - but it’s Bellator, so you never know.
Well, 50 has revealed what exactly is involved in his deal with Bellator - and it’s a catchphrase. Yes, an actual catchphrase - “Get The Strap”. And if Curtis Jackson is to be believed, it was worth a cool million dollars:
“l did a deal today l sold (get the strap) for a million dollars to Viacom’s Bellator. So you will see lt on some cooler clothing shortly. see how l make something out of nothing. LOL”
It’s unclear exactly what this is all about. I would assume that 50 owns the rights to the phrase, as he has been using it in a lot of other social media posts lately. Bellator has apparently licensed it to use on some of their gear.
So, yeah. What a story.
