Video - Urijah Faber gets foot run over on first day of UFC Singapore fight week

The Team Alpha Male founder is in Southeast Asia to support teammate Teruto Ishihara in his fight against debuting talent Petr Yan. But so far it hasn’t been a very pleasant trip.

Weight cutting isn’t the only danger present during UFC fight weeks. Sometimes even coaches and cornermen find themselves in harm’s way. As did Team Alpha Male (TAM) owner and former multiple-time UFC title challenger Urijah Faber.

Faber is in Singapore this week to corner TAM talent Teruto Ishihara. Ishihara is set to take on debuting top prospect Petr Yan in the featured prelim of UFC Fight Night: Cerrone vs. Edwards, on June 23rd at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. And while Ishihara is the one who will find himself in harm’s way come Saturday, Faber has already picked up an early injury, courtesy of a car running over his foot.

Faber posted a short video following the incident on his Instagram page.

“Warm welcome to Singapore,” Faber wrote on his social media account, “first day here and get run over by the only car in the road #strange”

“So I just got ran over by a car in Singapore,” Faber announced in the video as he surveyed the damage. “Stepped into the street and got ‘Da-Donk’ right over my foot.”

Hopefully for Ishihara that will be the worst injury anyone on TAM walks away with. But, Petr Yan likely has other plans.
