Newly-crowned UFC interim welterweight champion Colby Covington isn’t the only one trolling Tyron Woodley.
Covington’s sister, Candace Covington, was in attendance for UFC 225 and warned ‘T-Wood’ that ‘Chaos’ is coming to take his belt.
She also sent a message to her brother’s ‘haters’.
“There are still gonna be haters, ‘Oh well you didn’t do this right, you didn’t do that right,’” Candace said backstage (1:03 mark) (h/t Jesse Holland of MMA Mania). ”Now we got a belt, now what do you have to say? Now we’re coming after Woodley, there’s no stopping us now. Absolutely not.”
Covington, a 30-year-old talent fighting out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, cruised to a unanimous decision over Rafael dos Anjos in the UFC 225 co-main event and called Woodley, a former teammate at American Top Team (ATT), a coward in the post-fight interview.
Woodley, the official welterweight champ, responded by calling Covington a ‘fraud’ and promised to ‘embarrass’ his former sparring partner when they eventually meet in the Octagon.
It’s expected that Woodley and Covington will square off in a title unification bout late in the year, when ‘The Chosen One’ has fully recovered from injury.
