UFC 224 video: Embedded, part 5 - ‘He looks like a Mexican Clark Kent’

Check out the fifth episode of Embedded for UFC 224.

UFC 224 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the fifth episode for this weekend’s big show in Brazil, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.

Vitor Belfort and John Lineker shake hands to open. Belfort does his photo shoot with his dog, then Kevin Gastelum does his. Lyoto Machida and Amanda Nunes follow. Ronaldo Souza talks about becoming champ.

Mackenzie Dern talks to her dad (Megaton Dias) on the phone about coming to the open workouts. On the bus on the way there, they play Machida’s entrance music again and Kevin Casey raps along to it.

Jacare meets up with Belfort and tells him a story of growing up in Manaus, hearing about a 19-year-old winning a fight in the UFC. The magazine describing it was being released, and everyone rushed down to open the boxes and turn the pages to find Belfort. Jacare gives him props on all of his accomplishments, which was a really classy thing to do.

Belfort does his open workout with his dog. His mom talks over it, saying a few things about his start in the sport. He gives his t-shirt away to a kid.

Dern is next, and her dad talks her up. Gastelum gets up and speaks Portuguese, which goes a long way with his coaches. Raquel Pennington gets beaten with pool noodles (Conor represent), then it’s Amanda Nunes’ turn. Gastelum even knows the words to a Portuguese song that’s playing before she goes out.

And that’s it! UFC 224 goes down this Saturday night in Rio.
