Report: UFC 223 fighter Ray Borg hospitalized after Conor McGregor bus incident

UFC flyweight Ray Borg has apparently gone to the hospital to deal with vision problems after Conor McGregor and his entourage busted a window in the bus Borg was sitting on.

It seems that Michael Chiesa wasn’t the only one that had to deal with some issues after Conor McGregor and his boys decided to storm the bus carrying some fighters out of the Barclay’s Center earlier today. UFC flyweight Ray Borg has apparently been hospitalized as well due to glass shards that he was sprayed with following the crazy incident earlier today.

Combate reporter Zeca Acevedo tweeted about it in Portuguese, which was then translated by TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter:

Earlier in the day, MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani reported that Borg was sitting right next to Chiesa, who suffered facial cuts from the incident:

Helwani also corroborated the report:

According to multiple accounts and a whole lot of video, McGregor and his entourage were let into Barclays Center by credentialed members of The Mac Life website who were on hand for media day. When they got inside, they ended up finding the buses that were transporting fighters out of the event.

McGregor, who was apparently incensed at an incident between his teammate Artem Lobov and UFC 233 headliner Khabib Nurmagomedov the day before, allegedly threw an object that smashed out one of the side windows of the bus, causing the glass injuries to Chiesa and Borg.

McGregor’s whereabouts are currently unknown. At one point it was unsure whether Chiesa would be able to compete against Anthony Pettis at the event, but it appears that he will be good to go.

It still isn’t clear whether Borg, who was set to face Brandon Moreno on the FS1 preliminary card, will be able to compete or not at this point.
