There are no secrets when it comes to Sean O’Malley’s hobbies. The burgeoning UFC star loves to toke up. And despite what initially appeared to be a gruesome foot injury suffered against Andre Soukhamthath at UFC 222 – x-rays eventually revealed no broken bones – he wasn’t about to miss the release of his custom strain of kush, ‘Sugar Show OG.’
O’Malley teased his plans ahead of his bout, telling Ariel Helwani that his sponsor – Atrium Cannabis – was putting together a marijuana blend to introduce at his after party. O’Malley even mimed taking a bong hit in the cage, after defeating Soukhamthath via unanimous decision. Looks like everything went just according to plan.
@sugaseanmma Congratulations on your win! We're proud to be involved with you. In his own words, “It’s OG 92 and Lemonhead mix...” “It’s probably going to taste a little like lemon. We’ll see, I haven’t gotten to see it, smell it, touch it...” “They asked me, ‘Hey, you want to do these strains?’ I was like, ‘Hell yeah!’... I wanted to make a more sativa kind.”
With the win, O’Malley moves to 2-0 in the UFC, having beat Terrion Ware in his debut. Hopefully the lack of broken bones in his foot mean that he’s back in the Octagon that much sooner. And hopefully he continues to keep his hobbies outside the ‘in-competition’ window.
