MMA: UFC 218 Alvarez vs Gaethje Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Saturday night was an insanely busy night for combat sports. You had UFC 222 in Las Vegas, as well as the big heavyweight title fight between Deontay Wilder and Luis Ortiz on Showtime in Brooklyn, plus Sergey Kovalev fighting Igor Milhalkin at Madison Square Garden on HBO.

Wilder vs. Ortiz ended up running opposite Stefan Struve vs. Andrei Arlovski, and let’s just say that one heavyweight fight was more important and more captivating than the other. The dramatic 10th round KO by Wilder overshadowed Arlovski’s decision win over Struve, and it definitely caught the attention of UFC president Dana White. Check out what he’s watching on the cageside monitor.

Hey, if you compared the two fights, wouldn’t you watch Wilder vs. Ortiz, too? After all, Dana White is getting into the boxing business, he might as well check on the big fights in the sport.
