Could former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar be returning to the Octagon? Judging by a recent social media post from UFC president Dana White, it’s certainly a possibility.

On Sunday, White posted a picture of himself and Lesnar on his Instagram, and Twitter account.

With Lesnar wearing a UFC top, and White captioning the image simply with a smiley face emoji, the assumption could definitely be made that a potential UFC return is on the cards for Lesnar.

It was recently reported by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer that Lesnar’s WWE contract would expire following WrestleMania 34 on April 8th. The newsletter also stated Lesnar would be unable to compete anywhere outside of the WWE until August without Vince McMahon’s permission.

Lesnar (5-3, 1 NC) last fought at UFC 200 in July 2016 when he defeated Mark Hunt by unanimous decision. The result of the fight was soon changed to a no-contest, as it was revealed Lesnar twice tested positive for the estrogen blocker clomiphene in two separates tests taken prior to the fight.

After being fined $250,000 and being suspended for a year by the Nevada Athletic Commission, Lesnar made the decision to announce his retirement from MMA for the second time in February 2017. Should he return to the UFC, he would have to serve the remaining five months of his one-year USADA suspension.

With UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic already booked to fight light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 226 in July, it’s a long shot to say who Lesnar could potentially face if he does step foot in the cage.
