A highly-touted prospect will receive a big step-up in competition in his second UFC bout.

Israel Adesanya is set to take on fellow up-and-comer Marvin Vettori in a middleweight bout at UFC on FOX 29 in April. UFC officials announced the news Friday.

Adesanya (12-0) made his promotional debut at UFC 221 earlier this month in Perth, Australia and defeated Rob Wilkinson via second-round TKO. The promising Nigerian-born New Zealander is a former kickboxer and had a stint under the GLORY banner.

Vettori (12-3-1) is coming off a draw against Omari Akhmedov at UFC 219 last December. The Italian fighter holds Octagon wins over Alberto Uda and Vitor Miranda, while he fell short in his second UFC fight in December 2016 to Antonio Carlos Junior.

The bout order for the card has not been finalized at this time.

UFC on FOX 29 takes place at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona on April 14. In the main event, lightweight contenders Justin Gaethje and Dustin Poirier throw down. Also on the card, Carlos Condit faces Matt Brown in a long-awaited welterweight scrap.
