UFC 221 was graced with some heavyweight action as Australia’s own 24-year-old Tai Tuivasa let his vicious elbows run amok all over Cyril Asker before the referee mercifully stepped in. What a sophomore appearance for the heavyweight new blood, and his mic skills were quite entertaining to boot. What will be next for this dangerous prospect? PPV Main Card:
Tai Tuivasa def. Cyril Asker by TKO at 2:18 of round 1: Heavyweights
The standing elbows were all business for “Bam Bam” as Asker ate one after the other in the opening round. Asker never really had a chance to mount much offense of his own because he was too busy trying to survive the onslaught from Tuivasa. Credit to Asker for enduring the punishment, but once he was pushed over and did a faceplant, the referee had to step in.
