New Brazilian light heavyweight sensation Johnny Walker has a date to come back to the Octagon. Per MMA Fighting’s report, the 26-year-old will now take on Justin Ledet at UFC Fortaleza, in February.
Signed off of Dana White’s Contender Series Brazil, Johnny Walker (15-3) was granted a shot in the UFC after defeating Henrique da Silva on the show. In his UFC debut, Walker scored a highlight-reel standing elbow knockout against Khalil Rountree, which brought his current win streak to seven straight victories. His last loss came in June 2016, when he was knocked out by Henrique Lopes.
Former heavyweight Justin Ledet (9-1-1 NC) suffered his first ever loss right when he dropped to the light heavyweight division when he was bested via unanimous decision by Aleksandar Raktic. Before the loss, the 30-year-old was on a three fight winning streak in the Octagon, with wins over the likes of Chase Sherman, Mark Godbeer and Zu Anyanwu.
UFC Fortaleza will stream live on ESPN+. The card will be headlined by a rematch between bantamweight contenders Marlon Moraes and Raphael Assuncao.
