One of the best prospects in all of boxing is 2016 Olympian Teofimo Lopez (11-0, 9 KOs), who is rising up the ranks of the lightweight division in hopes of becoming a world champion in 2019. Against veteran gatekeeper Mason Menard (34-4, 24 KOs), Lopez made an emphatic statement by knocking Menard out cold in just 44 seconds. What a way to kick off the televised portion of the Vasyl Lomachenko vs. Jose Pedraza undercard!
Watch the KO for yourself in the video below. It is definitely one of the best knockouts of 2018, and Lopez celebrated with a Fortnite dance and a Heisman Trophy pose.
Round 1: Lopez starts with a quick jab that gets parried. Lopez throws the jab down to the body this time. Now Lopez lands an overhand right clean that got Menard’s attention. ANOTHER HUGE SHOT FROM LOPEZ PUTS MENARD OUT COLD! LOPEZ FLIPS IN THE RING. IT’S OVER ALREADY! Lopez KO-1.
Expect Lopez to be in top contender fights at this rate. He’s been heavily hyped in recent months and continues to show just why he’s been so heavily touted.
