TUF 28 Finale salaries: Kamaru Usman tops payroll at $150,000

The Nevada Athletic Commission has released the official fight purses from Friday’s The Ultimate Fighter 28 Finale. This was a low-level card featuring only a few ranked fighters, of which two were in the main event. UFC welterweight contender Kamaru Usman was the top earner at $150,000, getting $75,000 base pay along with the $75,000 to win. Of course, he also got a $50,000 performance bonus to make it $200,000, but we’re only focusing on the money that was guaranteed immediately after Friday night’s results. Perhaps Usman’s next fight could be for the title, and thus a much bigger payday.

Joseph Benavidez was the next highest earner at $146,000 ($73,000/$73,000) for his TKO of Alex Perez, while Rafael dos Anjos ($110,000) was the only other fighter with a six-figure payday, and the only one who had a six-figure base pay.

As usual, these figures do not represent a fighter’s total earnings, as things such as Reebok sponsorship and discretionary bonuses are not publicly disclosed. The total payroll for this event was $1,007,000.
