UFC 232 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the sixth and final episode for this weekend’s big show in Vegas...wait no, California, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
Jon Jones posts some biblical quotes around himself. He then heads to the gym to lose seven pounds. Alexander Volkanovski gets his first look, as he cuts weight. He talks about opponent Chad Mendes. He should have an easy cut, he thinks. Megan Anderson talks about getting another dog as she cuts weight.
Jon Jones is backstage for the weigh-ins, and gives Andre Ewell the “who the fook is that guy?” treatment. He weighs in at 204. Amanda Nunes is 145. Alexander Gustafsson is 204.5. Cris Cyborg is 144. She says it’s never easy to make weight but it gets better each time.
Ceremonial weigh-ins. Megan Anderson and Cat Zingano. Cat tries some antics. Megan just stands there. Mendes and Volkanovski face off. Same with Michael Chiesa and Carlos Condit. Then we get to the two big fights. Nunes and Cyborg are respectful. Jones and Gustafsson are stoic.
