The UFC 232 ceremonial weigh-ins are all wrapped up, and of course fans got to witness the staredowns across the entire event, but most importantly the light heavyweight championship rematch between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson.
You can see the Swede sporting an anti-doping t-shirt, a clear shot at his opponent Jones, who has been in the headlines after it was revealed he tested positive for trace amounts of turinabol dating as far back as August 2018. He’d already served a 15-month ban when he was flagged for a USADA violation at UFC 214 last year, but these recent test results weren’t considered violations, hence the fight is still happening, albeit in Inglewood, California and not Las Vegas, Nevada.
Truth be told, Jones isn’t really staring Gustafsson face-to-face, and can clearly be seen acknowledging someone in the crowd. Watch the video below, courtesy of MMA Fighting.
And here’s the co-main event between women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg and women’s bantamweight champ Amanda Nunes.
