Jon Jones calls Alexander Gustafsson ‘delusional’, Gustafsson fires back

New, comments

Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson get into a heated exchange on social media.

Jon Jones has been blasted by his fellow fighters after failing yet another drug test, but the former UFC light heavyweight champion is standing his ground on social media.

Jones came under fire from Alexander Gustafsson, who he will rematch in the relocated UFC 232 main event in Inglewood, California, for being on ‘rocket fuel.’ After getting into a heated exchange with long-running rival Daniel Cormier, ‘Bones’ switched his attention to Gustafsson, calling the Swede ‘delusional’ over his recent comments.

It didn’t take long for Gustafsson to respond, as ‘The Mauler’ continued to berate Jones for his positive drug test and warn the former pound-for-pound No. 1 that his luck runs out on Saturday night.

Jones and Gustafsson were originally expected to battle for the vacant light heavyweight championship at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas but, after Jones tested positive for trace amounts of Turinabol, the UFC was forced to move the event from Las Vegas to California after the Nevada Athletic Commission refused to sanction the fight.

Jones, who originally beat Gustafsson via unanimous decision back in 2013, will now take on the 31-year-old in the UFC 232 main event at The Forum in Inglewood, California. The highly anticipated PPV takes place this Saturday, Dec. 29.
