The first Ultimate Fighter is headed to UFC 235 against a top welterweight prospect.
Diego Sanchez is scheduled to meet Mickey Gall at the March 2 pay-per-view event. UFC officials announced the pairing Friday.
Sanchez is coming off a unanimous-decision win over Craig White at UFC 228 in September. The victory snapped a two-fight skid for the veteran, who won The Ultimate Fighter 1 as a middleweight in 2005.
Gall rebounded from his first UFC loss to Randy Brown in late 2017 with a submission of George Sullivan in August. Gall is 4-1 in the UFC, including 2016 wins over CM Punk and Sage Northcutt. UFC president Dana White signed Gall nearly three years ago after an appearance on Looking For A Fight.
UFC 235 takes place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Also scheduled for the card is a pivotal welterweight bout between former champion Robbie Lawler and Ben Askren. No main event has been announced for the card.
