UFC 230 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the fifth episode for this weekend’s big show in New York City, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
This episode starts off with Aljamain Sterling coming in to see Chris Weidman. Stephen Thompson is there too. They listen to some music on the way to Renzo Gracie’s. Weidman and Daniel Cormier engage in some goofy, fun trash talk over video games. Weidman then does a workout, and Wonderboy talks him up.
Back at the hotel, Jacare Souza does a light workout. Then we’re off to Ultimate Media Day.
They show Derek Brunson and Israel Adesanya analyzing each other and facing off. Weidman clowns around with his manager before going out in front of reporters, pretending to get hurt backstage. David Branch makes his first appearance, talking about how the Luke Rockhold fight made him realize some things. Weidman and Jacare face off cordially. Then it’s DC and Derrick Lewis. Cormier talks about breaking his opponents. Lewis talks about his comebacks.
Back to Cormier and Weidman, who don’t have time to play video games because Weidman is cutting weight. Lewis is cutting too, one of the few heavyweights to do so.
We close with Adesanya, who is playing video games with his sister and talking about how Brunson didn’t say anything to him during the face off until he had already turned away. He’s ready to fight.
And that’s it! UFC 230 goes down in less than 24 hours in MSG.
