UFC 230 is almost here, and as usual, Embedded is here as well. The show that gives you an inside look at the marquee contestants on PPVs has issued the third episode for this weekend’s big show in New York City, and it serves as a brief introduction to the fighters at the top of the card.
Chris Weidman is at home. He’s brought flowers for his wife and daughter, and is wrestling with his sons. He’s happy about fighting close to his house, and his son fits in his suitcase.
At the fighter hotel in NYC, Jacare Souza does a light workout. The usual stuff. He’s loose and having fun. Israel Adesanya is on his way to a basketball game at MSG. He’s overwhelmed once he gets down onto the court. They ask him to take a shot, but he laughs and declines.
Over at Renzo Gracie’s academy, Daniel Cormier is once again teasing his coaches and training partners. He’s telling them that they’ve changed since they started being in Countdowns and Embedded shows, which is funny. He talks about the size difference between him and Derrick Lewis, and that it might actually work to his advantage.
Lewis is flying from Houston to NYC. A flight attendant acknowledges to the customers that he’s on the flight and he gets some applause. Back to Cormier. He’s taking pics with both belts still. Weidman gets his hair and makeup done. DC is happy he can eat, since he’s a heavyweight. People are making fun of Gian Villante’s face again. Weidman approached Derrick Lewis to take a pic.
Derek Brunson gets some screen time, talking about his fight with Adesanya. The Stylebender signs some posters and talks about why he’s not a shy person.
And that’s it! UFC 230 goes down Saturday in MSG.
