Arrested package bomb suspect sports American Top Team sticker on conspiracy van

Amid a swath of conspiracy theories and propaganda the van of a man recently arrested for the attempted bombing of numerous political figures was also sporting a sticker for one of MMA’s biggest fight camps.

A 56-year-old man has been arrested in connection to a string of apparently politically motivated attempted bombings in the US. CBS News reports that Cesar Sayoc is in custody as part of an investigation into a series of package bombs targeting a several notable US politicians and news outlets.

The attempted bombings appear to be focused on high ranking Democrats, and former Obama cabinet members. With some outlets drawing lines to President Donald Trump’s harsh rhetoric toward these particular figures as the basis for their having been selected as targets.

New Jersey Senator Cory Booker, former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, billionaire George Soros, former CIA Director John Brennan, Former Attorney General Eric Holder, US Representative Maxine Waters, actor Robert De Niro, former Vice President Joe Biden, former President Barack Obama & First Lady Michelle Obama, and former President Bill Clinton & former New York Senator Hillary Clinton have all been targeted by packages containing explosive devices.

Upon arrest, images of a white van reportedly owned by Sayroc began circulating. The van is covered in political propaganda, including apparent threats, and conspiracy theories. But, that’s not all. Nestled among the madness is an American Top Team sticker.

A twitter account identified as potentially linked to Sayoc (and filled with similar propaganda to that adorning the vehicle), lists “Cage Fighter” in the bio. However, quick searches for “Cesar Sayoc” and “Cesar Altieri” among various MMA databases yielded no results.

Update: In response to the images circulating of Sayoc’s vehicle, Ariel Helwani reports that ATT owner Dan Lambert has been in contact with the various branches of the gym and that “nobody knows him” and that Sayoc is “not in the membership database either.”
