Dana White on UFC reportedly offering Khabib $15 million for McGregor rematch: ‘No. 1 bullsh-t’

Dana White shuts down the report of the UFC allegedly offering Khabib Nurmagomedov $15 million to accept a rematch with Conor McGregor.

Yesterday, it was reported by Russian website Sport Express (h/t MMA that reigning UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov had turned down a $15 million rematch with Conor McGregor.

That’s according to Khabib’s uncle, Alex Nurmagomedov, who claims that ‘The Eagle’ wants to defend his lightweight title against Tony Ferguson and then retire for good.

“From the start, they offered him 15 million if he agrees,” Alex Nurmagomedov said. “But Khabib said no. Let Conor stand in line, let him fight with others. Khabib wants to fight Ferguson, and then finish his career.”

Shortly after the report was published, UFC president Dana White blasted the story as ‘number 1 bullshit’ on his Instagram.

The head promoter also claims to have settled a dispute with Khabib, who was threatening to leave the promotion over White’s comments about firing teammate and friend Zubaira Tukhugov for his involvement in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

“We’re good. We worked it out. We’re gonna get everything worked out. Obviously, he was a little upset, he was a little fired up. We’ll get it all worked out,” White said.

Nurmagomedov submitted Conor McGregor with a face crank in the fourth round of the UFC 229 main event and immediately leapt over the cage and attacked McGregor teammate Dillon Danis. ‘The Eagle’s’ $2 million fight purse has been withheld by the Nevada State Athletic Commission for his controversial post-fight antics.
