Tonight, HBO plays host to a solid fight in the Lightweight division when Jorge Linares takes on Luke Campbell. Linares holds the 135 pound Lightweight world titles for both Ring Magazine and the WBA. He’s a very skilled technical fighter capable of excellent performances in the ring. He takes on 2012 Olympic gold medalist Luke Campbell, who is taking a step up in competition here, but seems up for the challenge. Linares is the favorite at -360, and the two should match up well for an entertaining fight.
Before the live card begins at the Forum in Inglewood, HBO will start the night off with a replay of last week’s hugely anticipated and hugely controversial Gennady Golovkin vs. Canelo Alvarez fight. That’s the biggest reason to tune in here. If you missed the fight last week, it’s absolutely worth a watch even knowing the result. And if you watched it already, give it a second (or third?) viewing and see if you can justify that 118 Canelo scorecard. Good luck!
HBO World Championship Boxing Linares vs. Campbell airs live today Saturday, September 23. Fight time is 10:00 p.m. ET. We’ll have live results and discussion right here.
