UFC fighter rankings: Jon Jones removed, Rafael dos Anjos cracks top-5 at 170

The latest UFC rankings don’t include Jon Jones, but do include Rafael dos Anjos in the top-5 at welterweight.

MMA: UFC 215-Magny vs Dos Anjos Perry Nelson-USA TODAY Sports

We have a rankings update following UFC 215, and there were alterations across several weight classes. Rafael dos Anjos’ dominant win over Neil Magny means that the former lightweight champion is now very much among the top set of contenders at welterweight. Ketlen Vieira cracked the top-10 at women’s bantamweight with her victory over Sara McMann.

On a non-215 note, with Jon Jones stripped of his light heavyweight title, he’s been removed from the rankings due to his failed UFC 214 drug test, so that affects both the pound-for-pound and light heavyweight lists.

The full UFC rankings can be found here.

Pound-for-Pound: Now that Jones is gone, T.J. Dillashaw has been reinserted into the P4P list, coming in at #15. Jose Aldo actually moved up two spots to 10th, while Michael Bisping stayed put at #11.

Women’s Strawweight: Neither Cynthia Calvillo nor Carla Esparza fought last week, but Calvillo flipped to 7th and Esparza to 8th. Joanne Calderwood, who is scheduled for a fight at flyweight, fell two spots to 13th. Cortney Casey and Alexa Grasso are now tied for 11th.

Flyweight: Henry Cejudo stays at 2nd after stopping Wilson Reis, who falls to 6th, one spot behind Jussier Formiga.

Women’s Bantamweight: Lots of changes here. Ashlee Evans-Smith drops out of the top-15 after losing to Sarah Moras. Leslie Smith now occupies #15. Ketlen Vieira’s shock win over Sara McMann sees the Brazilian rise from #13 to #9, while McMann drops from #6 to #7. Cat Zingano is now in 6th, Raquel Pennington was bumped up to 4th, Ronda Rousey is now down to 5th, Liz Carmouche dipped to 10th, Marion Reneau from 11th to 12th, and Katlyn Chookagian from 12th to 13th.

Men’s Bantamweight: No changes

Featherweight: No changes

Lightweight: Gilbert Melendez is gone from the rankings, which puts Evan Dunham at 14th and Mairbek Taisumov at 15th.

Welterweight: Rafael dos Anjos’ domination of Neil Magny sees him skyrocket from 9th to 5th. The virtually inactive Carlos Condit fell two spots to 7th, and Neil Magny went from 6th to joint-9th with Santiago Ponzinibbio. Robbie Lawler is also tied for the top-contender spot with Stephen Thompson.

Middleweight: No changes

Light Heavyweight: Almost everyone ranked below Jon Jones has been moved up. Plain and simple. In the rankings database, Cormier is listed as “0” instead of as the champ, but I imagine that’ll be fixed. One fighter who moved down is Tyson Pedro, whose loss to Ilir Latifi sees him go from 13th to 14th. Gadzhimurad Antigulov went above Gian Villante, so he’s now in 12th and Villante is 13th.

Heavyweight: No changes
