With the world waiting for Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Conor McGregor to clash inside a boxing ring at Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena, a report via ESPN’s Darren Rovell has called into question when the highly anticipated match will take place.

Previously, it had been established that Mayweather vs. McGregor would occur at approximately 11:45pm ET (on August 26th). However, a tweet from Rovell states that ESPN’s Sal Palantonio had learned that the fight was being delayed because of ‘PPV issues.’

The news comes while some customers are having issues purchasing the event via UFC Fight Pass/UFC.TV. As was the case with Bloody Elbow’s own Anton Tabuena.

At time of writing, Gervonta Davis and Francisco Fonseca are doing battle in the co-main event. Should the rumours of a main-event delay be true, there could be some frustrating moments ahead for the millions of projected viewers hoping to see the touted ‘Fight of the Century.’

Stay tuned to Bloody Elbow for all the developments as we get ever nearer to Mayweather vs. McGregor.

UPDATE: Showtime released an official statement about it.
