A light heavyweight bout between Antonio Rogerio Nogueira and Jared Cannonier previously linked to UFC Fight Night 120, in Norfolk, Virginia, has now been moved to UFC on FOX 26, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, on December 16, as Combate reported and the UFC later confirmed.
The 41-year-old Nogueira (22-8, 5-5 UFC) will try to bounce back from a TKO loss suffered by the hands of Ryan Bader in November 2016. His last win was a TKO victory over Patrick Cummins in May 2016. Nogueira hasn’t won two fights in a row since he defeated Tito Ortiz in 2011 and Rashad Evans in 2013. Despite being in the UFC for almost eight years, injuries have limited him to just 10 fights in the organization.
Jared Cannonier (10-2, 3-2 UFC) will try to begin a new win streak following his TKO win over late replacement Nick Roehrick in July. Before that, he was bested by former light heavyweight title challenger Glover Teixeira by unanimous decision in February.
A middleweight bout between Alessio di Chirico and Oluwale Bamgbose was also added to the Winnipeg card. No other bouts have been linked to the card as of yet.
