This Saturday, July 1, one of the biggest boxing stars of our era is back and fighting in a new home. Manny Pacquiao (59-6-2; 38 KO) will be fighting on ESPN, as he takes on Jeff Horn (16-0-1; 11 KO).

The big story here is course is Pacquiao. Now a senator, Pacquiao has fought and won twice since the 2015 Floyd Mayweather megafight. His last was a PPV encounter against Jessie Vargas that was not picked up by HBO and drew very little attention. Now, his fight is being used to launch a partnership between Top Rank and ESPN. On the one hand, this is not a good sign for Pacquiao - to see a fighter who was once one of the only two real draws in boxing banished from his long-time home at HBO is never good. On the other hand, it does give him a potentially very wide general audience. It will be interesting to see if Top Rank can capitalize on that.

Also on the card is the 3rd pro fight from Irish Olympian Michael Conlan. Conlan is best known to MMA fans because of an association with Conor McGregor, but McGregor aside, he's a talented rising boxer who is absolutely a prospect to watch. He's being handed a big opportunity here to fight on a potentially high profile card.
