Sunday night, Felice Herrig and Justine Kish battled each other in a fight that saw both women leave it all in the cage. However, Kish left a little something extra behind. During the last couple minutes of the third round, Herrig locked in a rear-naked choke that was so deep it caused Kish to release her bowels right there on the canvas. It’s not the first time it’s happened to a fighter, and it certainly won’t be the last, but the social media sphere has been ablaze about the incident.

Herrig, however, is choosing not to add insult to injury, instead looking forward to her next fight. In an interview with TMZ, she discussed whether she knew at the time what had happened and her overall thoughts on the incident.

“This is so hard because I don’t want to talk shit. I mean, I did know… Justine and I are cool, we’re friends, and I feel like if I was in this position, I wouldn’t want people talking about it and making fun of me because MMA fans are relentless, they’re ruthless.

I know Justine is making light of it and made a funny tweet about it saying ‘Shit happens,’ but… I just feel like I shouldn’t talk about it. Sorry.”

Herrig went on to say that she’d like to fight Paige VanZant out of a need for redemption, and perhaps that rematch could finally see her get the respect and promotional attention from the UFC she’s been looking for.
