GGG vs Canelo is official: Watch Golovkin step in the ring and face off with Alvarez

Moments after the Canelo Alvarez vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. bout concluded with a lopsided win for Canelo, the long awaited bout against Gennady Golovkin was announced by HBO. ‘GGG’, who was in attendance in Las Vegas, went inside the ring for a face off, and the massive super-fight with Canelo was made official for September.

Apart from having the customary staredowns for the audience and the media, the pair also had a brief but entertaining exchange on the mic.

“I always say, Canelo Alvarez is the best, because I fought the best,” Canelo said through a translator.

“Good luck in September,” Golovkin said.

“Luck is for the mediocre people!” Alvarez responded, which prompted a smile from GGG.
