The most recent BE’s Baddest was an excellent battle, one of the closest of the first round. And it ended in a mild upset when Hellboy, #5 Joachim Hansen defeated #4 Kenny Florian by a slim margin, 34-28. With that win, Hansen moves on to a Sweet 16 clash with Ben Henderson.
Today, it’s the fight that any old school Japanese MMA fan has been waiting for. #3 Takanori Gomi vs. #6 Kid Yamamoto. Circa 2005, these two were THE definitive stars of Japan’s lightweight scene - and that’s at a time when there literally was no UFC Lightweight division. It’s a shame they never fought at their peaks, as it would have been a massive fight. But we get to settle it here.
