BE’s Baddest Greatest Lightweight: #2 Anthony Pettis vs. #7 Josh Thomson

Vote now in the Bloody Elbow Baddest Tournament to determine the Greatest MMA Lightweight of All Time. Today's match-up: #2 Anthony Pettis vs. #7 Josh Thomson. Vote now!

El Nino has struck. Former Strikeforce champion Gilbert Melendez had little trouble with Jim Miller, taking the longtime UFC fringe contender out, 60-16. It was a battle of grinders, and many noted that it was closer in their minds than the score indicated, bu tin the end, it’s a clear-cut Giblert victory. He now moves on to face the winner of Donald Cerrone vs. Genki Sudo.

Today, it’s two former world champions and two excellent fighters. #2 seed and former UFC and WEC champion Anthony Pettis goes up against #7 seed and former Strikeforce champion (and long-time Melendez rival) Josh Thomson. One man moves on to the Sweet 16, one sees his tournament run end right now.
