Much like Saturday night’s fight at UFC 211, the BE’s Baddest fight from Eddie Alvarez was indeed No Contest. The #3 ranked Alvarez completely dominated Tatsuya Kawajiri, 38-2. That’s our biggest blow-out yet, even more than the two #1 seed battles we’ve seen so far. Interestingly, as the draw played out, Alvarez now takes on the #2 seeded Anthony Pettis in the Sweet 16 - another opponent Alvarez has already faced and vanquished in the real world.
Today, it’s an old-school vs. new-school battle. Representing the new generation is the #4 seeded Edson Barboza. On the old guard side is former UFC Lightweight champion, #5 Sean Sherk. Old vs. new, striker vs. wrestler, reach vs. T-Rex arms... it’s everything you want in a classic match-up.
