Undefeated as a strawweight, contender Jessica Andrade is as confident as she can be as her title fight against Joanna Jedrzejczyk quickly approaches. When speaking toCombate about her gameplan for the fight, Andrade said her hard chin would play a big factor.
"It really scares my opponents, because I eat a lot of strikes and still walk forward, it's like it makes no difference. Once I'm in there, the punches come, but I don't feel them. When I fought Larissa Pacheco, she hit me with a knee and everything went dark. When I came back, I was on top of her. It was automatic. I just have this hard chin."
Besides her toughness and ability to overcome hard times during a fight, Andrade says she will also try an intelligent approach, that will suit her own style.
"My head coach focused on speed a lot, cardio and counter strikes, too. I just need to short the distance and then her speed and strength will disappear. I'll win this fight with intelligence and strength. Walking forward and landing more shots. She's a great striker, she walks forward. But if I stand in front of her, she won't know what to do. She'll punch and elbow me, but I'll still be in front of her. She'll start to fade, because she won't have time to regain her strengths. This will help me a lot. It's her weak spot."
Andrade is expected to take on Jedrzejczyk for the strawweight title at UFC 211, on May 13, in Dallas, Texas. The card will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Junior dos Santos and champion Stipe Miocic.
