Mayweather rips MMA: I don't fight 'between no man's legs' on the ground like Conor McGregor

The boxing legend says that real men fight standing up and don't wrestle in between each other's legs on the ground.

Floyd Mayweather is rallying hard for a boxing mega-fight against UFC sensation Conor McGregor.

Both men have traded verbal barbs for the better part of a year, but things really gained steam when McGregor TKO'd Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight title at UFC 205.

Since then all the focus has been on a potential bout between the two combat sports legends, and 'The Notorious' claims that his next fight will '100 percent' be in boxing.

Mayweather, a boxing phenom with an unblemished record of 49-0, recently took a diss at McGregor and the sport of mixed martial arts by claiming that real men don't wrestle on the ground.

"Real men fight standing up," Mayweather said in a recent interview with Fight Hype. "I'm from old school. I'm not gonna kick my shoes off. I'm not gonna be between no man's legs, wrestling on the ground. I'm gonna stand up and I'm gonna kick ass. That's what I do."

The 40-year-old boxing veteran didn't stop there, calling McGregor a 'punk' and insinuating that the Irishman doesn't really want to fight in the boxing ring against one of the sport's pound-for-pound greats.

“Conor McGregor, stop blowing smoke up people’s ass you little [expletive],” Mayweather said, per Damon Martin of FOX Sports. “If you want to fight, let’s make it happen you punk. Conor McGregor you don’t even want to fight you little [expletive], you little punk. Let’s make it happen.”

“So just letting the world know that he’s full of [expletive]. He don’t really want to fight. ‘Oh I want to fight, I want to fight, I want to fight, Mayweather’s scared of me’ — well listen, I’m my own boss, let’s make the fight happen. You talking all that [expletive], you acting like you want to fight, I don’t think you really want to fight. Sign the contract and let’s make it happen.”

There's been no word from McGregor himself, but Bloody Elbow will keep you updated on any developments.
