The top of the UFC Fresno billing enjoyed the UFC’s #6 featherweight Brian Ortega submit the #4 ranked Cub Swanson with a 2nd round guillotine. Swanson had his moments landing on the feet, both to the head and body, but Ortega weathered the onslaught, and walked down his path to victory. Ortega now moves to 13-0 and should now be involved in a title shot conversation.

Swanson and Ortega went toe to toe, from the opening bell, in a controlled display of striking prowess. Swanson landed several clean punches to the body, and some partially blocked bolos to the head. Ortega locked up a standing Anaconda Choke, dropped down, but the round ended before he could finish the hold.
Swanson started the second stanza by pressing forward, looking to pick apart his opponent. Ortega began pressing forward, but Swanson was right there to counter with punches both high and low. Ortega, being the Jiu-Jitsu ace that he is, jumped on a guillotine choke, and of course got the tap.
