It’s finally here! UFC 217 promises to be the biggest and best card of 2017, as three title fights top this magnificent pay-per-view. Your main event is a middleweight championship bout between titleholder Michael Bisping and the great Georges St-Pierre, who is looking to capture UFC gold despite a four-year absence from the sport, and also having never competed at middleweight before.
The other two title fights are not just well-matched but have a lot of personal heat behind them. Bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt makes his first title defense against former champ T.J. Dillashaw, who was a teammate of Cody’s at Team Alpha Male, and now the are sworn enemies. Leading off the trio of title matchups is women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk versus Rose Namajunas, as Jedrzejczyk is one win away from equaling Ronda Rousey’s record for most UFC title defenses by a woman in the promotion’s history.
As if that wasn’t enough, the main card also includes welterweights Stephen Thompson and Jorge Masvidal, as well as rising middleweight prospect Paulo Borrachinha and Johny Hendricks. The feature prelim on FS1 is a dynamite lightweight showdown between Joseph Duffy and James Vick. Oh yes, this is an awesome card.
Here’s a look at what’s in store in just a matter of hours:
