Tattoos have always been embedded in MMA culture. Some of today’s renowned fighters are known not only for their skillset and reputation, but also for the artwork on their bodies.
Ironically enough, one of the most distinguished figures in the sport today claims he is “not really a tattoo guy.” But nonetheless, UFC president Dana White took some time off his busy schedule to play a little game of “Guess That Tattoo” with GQ Magazine.
White was able to guess most of the fighter tattoos, but all of them came with some form of ridicule. UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor, for one, was no longer in the receiving end of praises, this time around.
“When Conor McGregor got that tattoo, I was horrified,” White said with a laugh. “And he said ‘you know why you don’t like these tattoos? Because you’re too old.’”
“Those are horrible tattoos. Get a t-shirt that says ‘The Damage’ in every color, and wear it everyday for a month or something. But come on.”
In the end, White expressed his dislike for tattoos in general, whether they are on fighters or otherwise.
“I think tattoos are a bad idea, whether you’re a fighter or not. But man, fighters got some bad taste in tattoos.”
