A lot was expected from Gegard Mousasi’s Bellator debut against Alexander Shlemenko at Bellator 185 last month. Mousasi did win via unanimous decision, but Shlemenko was able to inflict significant damage and put on a decisive performance in the third round to finish strong.
Shlemenko vehemently disputed the results and planned to appeal for the fight to be overturned to a no-contest. Welterweight standout Rory MacDonald also agrees that the wrong decision was put out.
shlemenko won that fight clearly, shame he didnt get it officially on the decision— Rory MacDonald (@rory_macdonald) October 21, 2017
MacDonald’s tweet was not taken too well by Mousasi, who gave his response on Monday’s MMA Hour episode.
“He’s a weird guy,” Mousasi said (via MMA Fighting). “Let him talk. Let him win his fights. He has his own bad performances, so he shouldn’t talk about me.”
“He’s a Canadian, I thought Canadians were more polite with that. He looks weird. Let him change his face before he talks.”
MacDonald recently spoke about jumping up to middleweight and possibly facing Mousasi down the line, after he wins the Bellator welterweight title against Douglas Lima.
Mousasi, meanwhile, also had something to say about these plans.
“Let him win his fight and then let him talk. He shouldn’t talk, he’s an idiot. He looks like a mass murderer. He should shut his mouth.”
MacDonald and Lima will headline Bellator 192 on January 20th in Inglewood, California. The card will also feature the first fight of Bellator’s eight-man heavyweight Grand Prix between Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Chael Sonnen.
