Live, blow-by-blow updates for today's UFC Shanghai card headlined by Michael Bisping vs Kelvin Gastelum.

Today’s main event will see former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping returning just 3 weeks after losing his title to face Kelvin Gastelum.

The prelims kick off at approximately 3:45 am ET on UFC Fight Pass, with the main card streaming on the same video service at 7 am ET. The full lineup and schedule follows.

Michael Bisping vs. Kelvin Gastelum

Round 1 - Feeling out period early, with Gastelum controlling the center. Body kick from Gastelum, and right hand from Bisping. Counter uppercut from Bisping as Gastelum misses. Another counter right hand from Bisping. Right hand from Bisping. Right hand followed by a BIG left, and Bisping is OUT. Wow.

Li Jingliang vs. Zak Ottow

Round 1 - They trade early with the crowd screaming every shot from the Chinese fighter. Counter right hook from Ottow. Li with a leg kick and Ottow lands a counter. Right straight seems to wobble Ottow a little bit. Li drops Ottow with a right hand!! He pounces! Ottow tries to recover but Li continues to pound him out and it is over. Crowd goes crazy and Li jumps the fence to celebrate with the fans.

Alex Caceres vs. Wang Guan

Round 1 - Wang lands a big counter straight. He lands it again. and again. They trade leg kicks. Caceres lands a kick to his shoulder. Two oblique kicks from Wang. They clinch and Caceres lands a knee to his groin. On replay, both of them landed to the jewels at the same time. Break in the action. They go back, and Caceres lands a leg kick and a punch. Wang lands a punch to the body. Hard left wobbles Caceres! Wang rushes in. Hard body punch from Wang. They clinch, then break off and reset. Caceres with a right that glances. Counter hook from Wang, and a leg kick. Both trade and Caceres lands with a nice left. Overhand left lands from Caceres. Right straight from Wang and left from Caceres. Body kick from Caceres. He then checks a leg kick. BIG left lands and Caceres is down! Wang pounces, and he is saved by the bell!! Caceres is incredibly wobbly going to the stool! Arguably could’ve been stopped too. 10-8 Wang Guan.

Round 2 - Left hook from Wang. Caceres seems to be hurt still. Oblique kick from Wang. Punch to the body, followed by a kick that is blocked. Body kick from Caceres and a short counter lands from Wang as well. Big right straight wobbles Caceres again! Groin shot and Wang doesn’t want the extra time as he doesn’t want Caceres to recover. Inside leg kick from Wang. Jab and a body shot again from him. Caceres missing with wild attempts. Inside leg kick by Wang, followed by a head kick that just missed. Body kick from Caceres. Wild overhand misses from Caceres and Wang clinches before landing a punch on the break. Big right straight again from Wang. Left lands for Caceres. Left straight again from Wang. Body kick from Caceres and the bell ends. 10-9 Wang Guan.

Round 3 - Right hand lands from Wang. Big counter left from Wang stops Caceres on his tracks. BIG left again, and Caceres is knocked down. He gets back up. Jab lands from Wang. One two from Caceres. Caceres slips from a high kick attempt. They clinch briefly. Another left lands from Wang followed by a body punch. Uppercut from Caceres backs up Wang. Spinning kick from Caceres lands to the body. Caceres lands a left. Wang with a body kick. Counter left lands from Caceres. Another groin shot lands on Wang Guan. That’s the third time. No point deduction yet. Caceres pushes forward aggressively. They trade before clinching. They break and both are trading in the pocket. Caceres landed a right hook, and the bell ends. Nice end to the round for Caceres, but the biggest shots (and knockdown) were still landed by Wang, so 10-9 Wang, and 30-26 on my card.

Wang Guan def. Alex Caceres by Decision (Split)

Alex Garcia vs. Muslim Salikhov

Round 1 - Garcia with an early takedown. Not much damage, but he’s sitting on half guard trying to pass. He gets to side control, and Salikhov recovers guard then gets back to his feet. Both miss on the feet. Leg kick from Salikhov, and a jab lands. Spinning back kick to the body lands for Salikhov. They trade a bit before clinching, and Garcia lands a knee. Garcia gets a takedown and lands a few shots before the bell rings. 10-9 Garcia.

Round 2 - Low output on the feet so far. Spinning back kick from Salikhov barely glances on the body. Right hand from Garcia. Spinning hook kick partially lands for Salikhov. Right hand from Garcia. Salikhov shrugs off a takedown attempt and lands a jumping body kick. Another takedown from Garcia and he’s working from half guard by the fence. He passes to side control. He lands a shot and takes the back. He tries a choke. It doesn’t look like it’s under the chin, but he taps and it is over!

Preliminary Card (3:45 AM ET)

Zabit Magomedsharipov vs. Sheymon Moraes

Round 1 - Magomedsharipov opens up with oblique kick, and shortly follows up with lead kicks. Moraes lands switch lead kick, and shortly throws a leg kicks, only to be caught by Magomedsharipov, who follows up with a straight right. Magomedsharipov lands a hard one-two and continues to dictate the striking exchange. Moraes threw a low kick, which is once again caught by Magomedsharipov. Magomedsharipov takes Moraes down upon catching kick and also dictates the scrambles. Magomedsharipov completes a suplex and immediately locks both hooks in from back control. After a few scrambles, fight gets back up to the feet, but Magomedsharipov brings the fight back to the ground again. Magomedsharipov attacks from top and transitions to full mount. Round ends with Magomedsharipov on side control. 10-9 Magomedsharipov.

Round 2 - Magomedsharipov lands side kick, followed by a turning kick. A few scrambles later, Moraes gets top control briefly, but was reversed and ends up in guard. Action gets back up, but Magomedsharipov brings it back down to the ground. Magomedsharipov gets back control with both hooks in, but Moraes defends. Magomedsharipov flattens Moraes and lands hard punches and elbows from the back. Moraes turns over and gets under Magomedsharipov’s full mount. Magomedsharipov moves to side control and transitions to full mount, but Moraes prevents and and gets to half guard bottom. Magomedsharipov passes smoothly to side mount, but Moraes brings it back to half guard. Round ends with Magomedsharipov inside Moraes’ closed guard. 10-9 Magomedsharipov.

Round 3 - Magomedsharipov lands powerful inside leg kick that throws Moraes off balance. Moraes gets back up and lands a lead upper cut. Magomedsharipov lands an upper cut of his own. Magomedsharipov lands a strong spinning back fist. Magomedsharipov gets the fight down to the mat with back control, but Moraes fights it off and lands a back elbow. Magomedsharipov maintains back control and flattnes Moraes out. Moraes scrambles back up, but Magomedsharipov sticks to him, keeps back control, and tries to force the fight down tot he mat. Magomedsharipov gets on full mount near the fence and moves to side mount, but Moraes recovers half guard. Mpraes scrambles out, but Magomedsharipov locks in the anaconda choke, tightens it to force Moraes to tap.

Bobby Nash vs. Kenan Song

Round 1 - Action starts with inadvertent groin strike and is briefly stopped, but as it resumes, Kenan lands a clean straight right that drops Nash. Kenan follows up with punches, until Herb Dean stepped in to stop the fight.

Kailin Curran vs. Yan Xiaonan

Round 1 - Xiaonan goes on a fury and lands shots, but Curran fights back hard. Curran clinches up and brings action to the fence. Xiaonan disengages and throws left high kick. Curran lands overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Action gets back on the cage wall, with Curran pushing Xiaonan to the fence. Xiaonan disengages, and lands left as action goes back to the center of the cage. Curran shoots for a takedown but Xiaonan stuffs it. Xiaonan lands short shot as clinch disengages. Curran attempts another takedown, but is stuffed. 10-9 Xiaonan.

Round 2 - Xiaonan lands side kick. Xiaonan lands as Curran covers up. Curran completes takedown and lands on side mount. Xiaonan recovers guard and gets up. Curran controls the action as she pushes Xiaonan to the fence. Xiaonan lands stiff jabs as Curran backs up. Xiaonan lands hard right, but Curran closes the distance to avoid follow up. Xiaonan lands straight right, as Curran enters the pocket. Round ends with Curran landing short shots from the clinch. 10-9 Xiaonan.

Round 3 - Xiaonan lands leg kick that sweeps Curran off balance. Curran clinches and lands knees to the body. Xiaonan continues to land punches from boxing range. Curran changes levels and attempts takedown and completes with a trip. Xiaonan tries to work high guard, but Curran continues to posture up and land punches. Curran advised to pass the guard, but instead lands punches from up top. Xiaonan continues to play from closed guard with very little action. Xiaonan finally pushes Curran off and gets back up, Curran once again attempts a takedown, only to land back to the clinch off the fence. Both women trade shots as ten-second clapper sounds. 10-9 Curran.

Song Yadong vs. Bharat Khandare

Round 1 - Yadong opens up with blitzing kicks. Khandare throws wild overhand right, but Yadong changes levels and lands counter punch. Yadong lands another counter right hand, and another lead right that throws Khandare off balance. Khandare lands hard low kick. Yadong lands a hard low kick to the lead leg of his own. Yadong lands a counter left and follows up with low kick. Yadong lands overhand right that drops Khandare. Yadong locks in a front choke as Khandare was getting up. Choke tightens and Khandare taps.

Shamil Abdurakhimov vs. Chase Sherman

Round 1 - Sherman opens up with leg kick. Abdurakhimov lands lead left hook, Shreman lands body punch. Abdurakhimov lands heavy overhand right, and follows it up with a left hook. Sherman drops and the fight is stopped.

Gina Mazany vs. Yanan Wu

Round 1 - Mazany opens with a straight left. Wu lands a sidekick. Both women clinch by the fence. Both women exchange knees in the clinch. Action scrambles back and forth from the feet to the mat and back to the feet. Mazany pushes Wu to the fence and lands knees. Mazany completes trip gets top half guard and lands hard shots. Mazany gets to side control. Wu attempts an armbar from bottom but Mazany gets out. Both women get back up, but Mazany lands takedown and land hammer fists. Wu reverses position gets back up, and pushes Mazany to the fence. 10-9 Mazany.

Round 2 - Mazany opens up the round with a straight left again and lands a head kick. Wu pushes Mazany towards the fence. Mazany reverses and lands a knee to the body. Mazany shoots for a leg, but Wu stuffs it. Mazany finally cpmpletes a double leg takedown. Wu gets the action back up, but Mazany trips her to complete another takedown and lands punches from up top. Mazany remains heavy lands punches as Wu covers up. Wu gets back up, but Mazany pushes her back to the fence. Wu reverses and lands a knee to the body. Marc Goddard stops action to remind Wu’s corner about fence grabbing. Action resumes at the center of the cage. 10-9 Mazany.

Round 3 - Both women keep it standing. Wu lands right body kick, Mazany lands one-two combo. Mazany lands left leg kicks. Both women clinch, Mazany lands takedown from the fence. Wu fights from closed guard, but Mazany lands punches. Wu works from mission control as Mazany keeps her weight heavy. Wu attempts a triangle choke, but Mazany gets out and easily passes to side mount. Mazany moves to north south and lands short body punches. Mazany moves back to side mount and lands elbows to the face. Round ends with Mazany landing elbows from side control. 10-9 Mazany.

Rolando Dy vs. Wuliji Buren

Round 1 - Dy opens up with a jab and outside leg kick. Dy lands a left hook that drops Buren. Buren recovers immediately. Buren shoots in for a single and completes the takedown. Dy gets up, but Buren maintains back control. Buren gets the fight back down, gets the back. Dy gets up and throws hard punches. Dy lands a hard outside leg kick, then a left body kick. Buren attempts a flying knee, to no avail. Dy continues to land hard leg kicks. Dy shoots for a takedown, but Buren defends well. 10-9 Dy.

Round 2 - Dy lands a hard lead left hook. Buren scrambles to complete a takedown. Buren goes for a guillotine choke from bottom side mount. Dy lands knees from side mount, as Buren locks in another guillotine attempt. Buren gets on his knees, and back up to the feet. Dy lands hard left hooks. Dy lands two-punch combo, followed by right body kick. Buren lands overhand right, Dy lands another body kick. Buren lands another overhand right. Buren completes single leg, but Dy counters with a hard upkick. Dy continues to batter Buren’s lead leg. Dy lands hard one-two to end the round. 10-9 Dy.

Round 3 - Dy opens up with hard jab. Buren completes a single-leg takedown. Buren remains heavy from half guard as Dy struggles to get up. Both fighters scramble back up, but Buren gets hold of Dy’s right leg. Dy lands hard overhand right and left body kick. Accidental low blow momentarily stops action. Buren shoots for takedown, Dy stuffs it. Buren commits to takedown, but transitions to back control. Dy reverses and lands right elbow. 10-9 Dy.

Rolando Dy def. Wuliji Buren via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 30-27)

Cyril Asker vs. Hu Yaozong

Round 1 - Asker comes in with a one-two and easily completes a double-leg. Asker batters Hu from the clinch. Hu reverses the clinch and attempts a standing guillotine. Asker gets out. Asker lands a stiff jab to keep Hu by the fence, and takes the fight to the mat again. Asker gets Hu’s back and keeps control. Hu fights back to get up, but Asker completes a single-leg takedown. Asker lands hard punches from the back and keeps control. Asker fights hard to get the second hook from the back, and continues to land hard punches from up top. Round ends. 10-9 Asker.

Round 2 - Hu lands a hard right hand and outside leg kick. Asker lands a hard upper cut and completes a single-leg takedown. Asker unloads heavy punches and transitions to back control with one hook in. Asker rains down heavy shots and gets the second hook in. Asker remains heavy on Hu’s back as Hu struggles to get up. Asker rolls over to sink in the rear-naked choke. Hu taps.
