Colby Covington has been effortlessly getting himself infamous as of late. His most recent controversy involved former heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum, whom he had a heated confrontation with in Sydney, Australia.

The two men were seen in an argument outside a hotel, which led to Werdum throwing a boomerang towards Covington. The verbal spat continued, with Covington calling Werdum a “f--king f-ggot”, and repeated his “filthy animals” description for Brazilians.

Totally disconnected from the situation, former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones decided to chime in via Twitter. He first praised Werdum, then indirectly called out Covington for the homophobic remarks.

Not to be outdone, Covington attacked his former college roommate Jones for “condoning” Werdum’s actions, and for the recent drug test failure.

Jones once again indirectly responded via a series of tweets, addressing Colby’s recent comments about their experiences as collegiate wrestlers, and even left a message for the elder Mrs. Covington.

From his end, Covington said he was pressing charges for the incident. Werdum is now scheduled for a December 13th court date in Sydney for common assault charges.
