Fight to Win Pro has built itself into one of the premier grappling promotions. As October creeps along, fans can look forward to this organization to bring some of the most action-packed events to the mats. Fight to Win Pro 50 and 51 do not shy away from that practice and are can’t miss events for this month.
First up is Fight to Win Pro 50 which is set for October 6 at the Lakeville Haas Arena in Minnesota. This is the organization’s 50th event and marks a pivotal moment in their growth. The event features a lot of talent from the local area and nearby locations.
Thomas Keenan and Brandon Bergeron as set for the main event which is a black belt gi match at 180 pounds. Keenan may be the more recognizable of the two names as he’s coming into the event with major wins in the past. Not only has he experienced victory on the Fight to Win Pro circuit, but he’s an Abu Dhabi World Pro winner as well.
Bergeron may be more familiar with those who follow the regional MMA circuit, but he also is a Metamoris veteran and has seen success in IBJJF tournaments as well.
Fight to Win Pro 50 isn’t the only event that fans should watch out for as a few weeks later Fight to Win Pro 51 returns to the east coast with matches that will set the grappling community on fire.
The main event has 2017 ADCC champion JT Torres facing off against former UFC lightweight champion, Ben Henderson. Torres is coming off of a huge win last month to take the 77 kilograms division in what is considered the Olympics of competitive grappling. Henderson, who’s also competed at ADCC and other major grappling events in the past, is best known for his time in MMA but he’s a certified black belt under John Crouch.
That isn’t the only big match on the card. Gianni Grippo has put together a strong 2017 and he looks to continue that run through the staunch competition that is Justin Rader. Both men have competed in the Fight to Win Pro organization in the past and now they are meeting for the lightweight black belt title. Murilo Santana and Jake Shields pits another grappling star against a well-known mixed martial artist as these two ADCC competitors meet in a 185-pound no-gi matchup.
As if that wasn’t enough, Fight to Win Pro 52 is closing out the month from the great fight city of Philadelphia. While the whole card hasn’t been announced, former UFC competitor, Ricardo Almeida took to Instagram to reveal that he’s competing against Michael Alexander in a 195-pound NoGi match.
