Newly crowned UFC women’s featherweight champion Cris Cyborg has been targeting Holly Holm for her first title defense, but if her latest comments are anything to go by, those plans have temporarily been shelved.

On Monday, Cyborg tweeted that her scheduled meeting with the UFC was “canceled,” and she claimed that the promotion was going to pay her less money for a potential Holm fight than when she fought Tonya Evinger at UFC 214.

According to the California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) salary info, Cyborg received a disclosed base purse of $200,000, with no win bonus. Of course, there’s the opportunity for pay-per-view points, and it’s assumed that she had them vs. Evinger.

Cyborg vs. Holm is certainly strong enough to headline its own pay-per-view, and is the biggest-drawing fight for Cyborg outside of some miraculous move to finally get that showdown with Ronda Rousey. We’ll see if there’s more to this story in due time, as it’s no secret that the relationship between the UFC and the Brazilian phenom has been quite strained at times.

UFC 219 is scheduled for December 30th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. No main event has been announced for the traditional New Year’s Eve card.
